A Gift to New Love

A Helpful Smile in an Interview

You should have seen her face when I plopped that little glob of bright yellow clay in her hand!! She was so surprised and happy at the same time. When I contacted her a few days later to thank her for interviewing me she told me that "i made her day." It made a big impression on her. No one had done anything like that before.

I bought some smiley stones for my grandma who was dying of cancer

My mother in law and I were at your shop not too long ago, you opened up for us on a Saturday. I bought some smiley stones for my grandma who was dying of cancer. I sent her a couple at a time, every month or so. She had them spread around her house in dishes. She just passed away two days ago, and my dad went for the memorial service and I couldn't go.

Kept my Seed of Happiness with me at all times

I was given a SoH about 8 years ago from an anonymous spreader of happiness during a time that my youngest son (2 years at the time) was having some of his most difficult times (he is autistic) and keeping up with his therapies and behaviors was quite the challenge. I kept my SoH with me at all times. Sometimes in my pocket, but always within in grasp – it truly got me through some difficult situations.

Our candlelight vigil for work is this Saturday. I typically give the “opening remarks.” Typically I say something about hope, etc. However, this year I’m giving the closing remarks. Smile in my pocket

Then he said "I also always carry around an extra smile in my pocket in case I run into someone who needs one". ( you know what's coming next!) He reached into his pocket and pulled out and orange Norman. I squealed. "Norman!!! ". He said no "Bob". I said "no, your little orange seed, I named all the orange ones Norman."

A Smile from Virginia Tech

I have given a few hundred of your smiles away and always have a jar of them ready for the next opportunity. But last year when I wanted to send my daughter, a Virginia Tech student, a jar of orange and maroon smiles to share with her friends when they really needed one, I didn't see any maroon ones to order.

Happy Seed Song

Last week, after cleaning up from our event, we had a few seeds left over. My coworker's daughters (ages 4 & 8) stopped by with her husband to say hello. They are the sweetest little girls ever and they're so well behaved. My coworker asked if the girls could have some seeds and we gladly obliged.

An inexpensive way to let people know that they are thought of and cared about

Thank you for bringing these silly little lumps of clay into my life. They are the exact tool I have been looking for (and probably didn't even know it). The biggest frustration for me this year has been my finances. See, I like to give. I like to do for people. And not having the means for which to do that makes me grumpy. But the Seeds have been an inexpensive way to let people know that they are thought of and cared about.

I smile back and think about my beautiful sister

I also wanted to share with you how much my Seed of Happiness means to me as well as tell you my story. When I was in 5th grade, my older sister was diagnosed with cancer. She went through many rounds of chemo and radiation and became cancer free about a year later. Life went on and things were going great until she went in for her check up and found that the cancer was back. She decided to fight and go through more chemo and radiation.
