SPARK ⭕ Create Classroom Connections with Kindness 😊

I bought my first bag of 10 seeds of happiness last year to give to students who were feeling down and lonely. I have used them in my classroom to build relationships with my students and let them know that somebody is always there to give them a smile. Students have come back to tell me how much a smile meant to them and a lot of them. Keep them in their lockers every day as a reminder. Thanks seeds of happiness!

SPARK â• World on his shoulders

July 01, 2024

During COVID, my father lost his job. Thankfully, he is back to work now. I am only 25 years old and felt like I had the world on my shoulders taking care of my family. I was supporting my grandparents and father. Things are getting better slowly but the past few days have been tough on me emotionally. I have found myself in tears daily from both financial and health issues.

Today there was a ray of sunshine that came my way! I went in to see a patient and without even knowing I am going through a rough patch, she gave me a seed of happiness. She gave me one for myself and one to give.

As soon as she handed them to me, I wanted to burst into tears. It was like God was calling to me saying to be happy!

Everything will be ok. It really brought a smile to my face and I will use this seed to remind me to be happy because life is beautiful!

SPARK â• Grief and Smiles

June 29, 2024

I asked my professor if I could miss class because my dog was being put down, I was 8 hours away so I didn't even get to say goodbye. She of course let me, and we shared one of our few hugs. Later she had my roommate drop off a seed of happiness.

I have kept it with me the last two years.

Now, her husband was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. It has already spread to his brain and spine. Obviously not the same, but now I am right hours away from her.

Now I get to plant a seed of happiness.

I grieve for her. I am so glad I got to see their amazing love for each other. Her unbreakable spirit is something to truly be inspired by.
